Am in the mood for some funky music. Teriyaki Boyz in da house, people ! Enjoy Zock On! feat. Pharrell William & Busta Rhymes. A cool promotion video directed by Nigo. This is definitely one good piece of work. Get it goin’ people ! Simple love the part, “Yabame na baby, zock on! zock on!” Here are the lyrics below (not including Busta Rhymes’s rapping tho’). By the way, the pretty lady in the clip is a popular model here in Japan and her name is Jessica Michibata (mixture of Spanish, Italian and Japanese).

Hello . Do you have that song?
I really want that in mp3 file!

    Well, I don’t.
And even if I do, I don’t intend to share it out illegally.
    Let’s buy good music.
You can enjoy the music at my music box.
Other than that, don’t come asking for me to hand out music files.

whts the meaning of yabame na?mo-daimondai??

  4. endoru said, on Monday, March 24, 2008 at 5:35 am

    「やば目な BABY」 could actually mean a lot.
It could mean “Super hot baby” or even “Super dangerous baby”.
The word “やば目” (yaba-me) comes from the い (i) adjective “やばい” (yaba-i).
There are many ways to describe the word “yaba-i”.
Check out the following link for further explanation:
    http://eow.alc.co.jp/%e3%82%84%e3%81%b0%e3%81%84/UTF-8/?ref=sa

“目” (me) literally means eye but in this case, it is used as a “scale of measurement”.
So, if a lady is “yaba-i”, she could be hot but we would not know HOW hot exactly.
By adding “me”, we can say she’s towards the “super” hot side of HOT or DANGEROUS.

About “Mo-dai mondai”, I think Pharrell did an error there.
The word “問題” (mondai) means problem or trouble.
It is just being repeated twice like how we would say “Trouble trouble” in English.
It should be “問題問題” (mondai mondai) instead of “mo-dai mondai”.
I maybe wrong so when I get my hands on the CD, I will check out
what’s actually written on the jacket.
    Stay tune.

Can you please translate pharrell’s chorus into english? I love it, but I think I’d love it more if I knew what it meant :)

    YABAMENA BABY!
    GIGANTO!(ZOCK ON)
    KAWAII BABY!
    GIGANTO!(ZOCK ON!)
    MO-DAIMONDAI!
    GIGANTO!(ZOCK ON!)
    YABAMENA BABY!
    GIGANTO!(ZOCK ON!)

    DANGEROUS BABY !
    GIGANTO ! (ZOCK ON!)
    CUTE BABY !
    GIGANTO ! (ZOCK ON!)
    PROBLEM ! PROBLEM !
    DANGEROUS BABY !
    GIGANTO ! (ZOCK ON!)

The lyrics “ZOCK ON!” comes from the Japanese word “ぞっこん” (zokkon).
For Japanese readers, here is the meaning.
    http://gogen-allguide.com/so/zokkon.html
Check out the usage in Japanese and it’s meaning in English here.

  8. Endoru said, on Saturday, April 5, 2008 at 12:31 am

    Yeah, you can say that.
It could be like “SUPER ZOCK ON!”.
Like “really like you” sort of nuance.

    I thought he was saying

mundai, mondai, zock on, zock on.

its not 問題問題(mondai mondai)。 it should be もう大問題(mo- daimondai)
which means “its already a big trouble”

    I think that GIGANTO means “huge,giant” or somethink like that;

  19. naru said, on Saturday, January 3, 2009 at 8:20 am

Giganto is usually associated with Bigfoot theories, describing an extinct form of ape. (Gigantopithecus) Giganto as a part of speech is linked etymologically to “giant.” So either way it fits with how the group works with Nigo and the Bathing Ape lines.
